MacDonald Ward is an acute 28 bedded Complex Care Frailty ward caring for elderly patients. The team is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care,we are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and passionateHealth Care Assistants.
You will care for frailty patients where staff can learn specialty care for those who may have multiple medical conditions, are on multiple medications and often require specialist support at home or in their care homes. Staff will also support patients who are acutely unwell, may also have poor recognition (dementia & delirium), difficulty in walking, falls and frailty.
We are looking for experienced Clinical Support Workers, hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum ofGCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths, Care Certificate and orNVQ2 two in health and social care or the equivalent qualification. Your role will be toprovide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula, undertake physiological observations, escort patients from clinical areas, provide personal care and accurately document all interventions. You will also be responsible for booking Hospital transport to take patients home.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an Induction course, which will include all the Trust statutory/Mandatory trainingto join our team inviting them to share their knowledge and experience with the ward; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.
You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative with effective interpersonal and communication skills, contributing fully as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the unit and are committed to the professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of this unit with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patient.
