The role

As an Accounts Clerk, you’ll be at the heart of our Aviation business, supporting the financial integrity of our operations by auditing and processing claims through the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system. This is a vital role that ensures accuracy, compliance, and transparency in public accounts—making a real difference to our people and the communities we serve.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to:

1. Handle enquiries related to JPA and Public Accounts Claims, providing clear and helpful guidance.
2. Conduct audits by contacting personnel, verifying entitlements, and ensuring compliance.
3. Advise on correct travel expense entitlements and support users in correcting errors.
4. Maintain accurate records of workflow items using spreadsheets and track progress daily.
5. File and store completed audits securely and systematically.

The role is based onsite at RAF High Wycombe, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.

Essential experience of the Accounts Clerk:

6. Strong customer service skills with the confidence to challenge and resolve issues.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
9. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
10. A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.

Qualifications for the Accounts Clerk:

11. A minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), or
12. NVQ Level 1 in Business Administration.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
