Summary
We are currently seeking a Climbing Wall Staff member to join our dynamic team at Durham Climbing Centre in Durham. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to provide an engaging and safe climbing environment for our diverse clientele. As part of our team, you will contribute to the growth of indoor climbing while enjoying unique benefits such as unlimited climbing access.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate safe and enjoyable climbing experiences for all participants.
* Provide instruction and support to climbers of varying skill levels.
* Assist in organizing and leading group activities and classes.
* Ensure the climbing area is well-maintained and adheres to safety standards.
* Engage with customers to promote the benefits of climbing.
* Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall customer experience.
* Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
* Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all users.
* Operate POS and advise on membership options
* Prepare and serve Barista hot drinks and light snacks
* Maintain cleanliness at all times
* Reception based admin duties
* Qualifications
* Proven experience in teaching or coaching, particularly in sports or fitness settings.
* Strong understanding of climbing techniques and safety protocols.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse groups.
* Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not required.
* Passion for climbing and a commitment to fostering a supportive community.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £7.55-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
