Applications are invited for a newly created Specialist Doctor Post in Paediatric Oncology with an interest in long-term follow-up at The Royal Marsden Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is focussed on running the long term follow up services for teenage and young adults working closely with paediatric consultants, endocrinologists, allied health professionals and the nursing team. The post is currently advertised as part time with dedicated SPA time allocated for revalidation, appraisal and Continuous Professional Development. Leadership, educational or other roles are encouraged and additional SPA activities can be negotiated at job planning.

Essential criteria
1. Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (or equivalent)
2. Full GMC Registration
3. Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training
4. Valid BLS
Desirable criteria
5. Advanced Paediatric Life Support (or equivalent)
6. PhD or MDRes
7. CCT in Paediatrics or Paediatric Oncology
8. Trained Medical Appraiser
9. Valid APLS and NLS
Experience
Essential criteria
10. Broad-based experience in paediatrics and paediatric oncology
11. A minimum of 12 years of medical experience since primary qualification
12. Minimum of 6 years at SAS Doctor grade or equivalent in Paediatric Oncology
13. Organisation of education and training of resident doctors
14. Experience in medical audit
15. IT Skills
16. Experience in Paediatric Oncology Research
17. Ability to assess published evidence

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
