<div><h3>Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist</h3><p><b>We are pleased that we are able advertise an exciting Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapy role within our Early Years Complex Needs Team.</b></p><p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Speech/Language Therapist who is passionate about working with preschool children with complex needs. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team of therapists and therapy assistants, delivering high quality SLT services to children on the Early Years Complex Needs caseload across a range of settings.</p><p>CYP Therapies have a strong commitment to CPD and regular clinical supervision. To help you feel confident we share our interview process in advance to ensure you have the best opportunity to flourish and succeed.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>As part of the <b>Early Years Complex Needs Team</b>, you will join an innovative group of therapists and therapy assistants, delivering high-quality Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) services to children with complex needs in their early years. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other health and education professionals to deliver assessment and intervention to complex preschool children at a highly specialist level. Management of complex feeding difficulties across a range of settings will also be required.</p><h3>What does Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust offer you?</h3><ul><li>As part of our BHT family, youll benefit from learning and development opportunities to support your career progression.</li><li>We offer flexible and agile working opportunities, alongside your NHS benefits of generous annual leave entitlement, pension and access to NHS discount schemes.</li><li>We provide a range of health and wellbeing services to promote a healthy, happy workforce.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING</h3><ul><li>Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent</li><li>Health Professions Council License to Practice</li><li>Evidence of successful completion of significant specialist post graduate training</li><li>Evidence of training as clinical supervisor</li><li>Registered Member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists</li><li>Membership of relevant Clinical Excellence Networks (CENs)</li></ul><h3>EXPERIENCE</h3><ul><li>Evidence of a minimum of four years in depth experience in specialist clinical area of early years complex needs</li><li>Evidence of a minimum 2-3 years specialist experience within paediatric dysphagia</li><li>Experience of implementing a range of AAC systems</li><li>Experience of carrying out assessments and therapy within a multi-disciplinary context
</li><li>Evidence of experience in delivering training to parents and other professionals</li><li>Evidence of experience in independently managing paediatric dysphagia cases in children under the age of 12 months (incl pre-term babies)</li></ul><h3>SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE</h3><ul><li>Evidence of high level of specialist knowledge/skills as a result of experience/ Continuing Professional Development</li><li>Able to listen well and counsel patients and carers</li><li>Able to demonstrate empathy with clients, carers and families and colleagues</li><li>Able to communicate effectively particularly where barriers to understanding exist</li><li>Demonstrates highly developed negotiation and problem solving skills</li><li>Demonstrates excellent analytical and reflection skills</li><li>Demonstrates excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Able to organise workload and manage time</li><li>Able to prioritise workload, clinical and non-clinical</li><li>Working knowledge and experience of service improvement e.g.

qualitiy improvement</li><li>Experience of data collection and audit</li></ul><h3>SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES</h3><ul><li>Ability to travel across the county to meet service needs</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p><p>Operational Lead for Speech and Language Therapy</p><p>£49,387 to £56,515 a year per annum pro rata</p></div>
