Overview
We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Senior Field Application Engineer to join a 7‑folks team supporting ARM engineers for multiple hardware pre‑silicon verification and performance workflows. You will become the first interface between the team, the partners (ARM engineers that create our hardware products), internal tool providers, cloud and EDA vendors. About the team: Working in Cambridge or Sophia‑Antipolis, you will be assigned to work with folks located within Europe, also supporting other sites in the US or India. Our team is spread across the UK, Europe, and the US. Given the span of the team and partners’ locations, you may have travel opportunities to work at partners’ sites.
Responsibilities
* Creation and maintenance of documentation, user guide and training material
* Delivery of training to partners – the better you train them, the less support they require
* Act autonomously, equipped by your problem‑solving skills, as the primary technical interface between partners, vendors and workflow developers
* Support partners in migrating their testbenches to our flow or transitioning them to another EDA formal/property‑checking tool, internal tools or a cloud vendor
* Fix simple bugs on the production branch and provide recommendations to the development team as required
Qualifications
* Track record of accomplishments applying verification methodologies with an emphasis on formal
* Comfortable in Python to understand the flow, propose fixes to customers and even perform bug fixes in the flow if required
* Experience with an EDA formal/property‑checking tool such as Cadence Jasper Gold, and a deep understanding of methodologies and flows applied to functional hardware verification of innovative IPs and subsystems
* Experience with scaled‑out deployment of technology across a global organisation
* Experience supporting workflows
* Experience collaborating with EDA vendors
* Strong scripting skills (Python, UNIX shell scripting) – able to develop scripts to support new flows
* Knowledge of one formal tool with at least proficiency for that tool and an understanding of the other two
* Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a culturally diverse environment
* 3–5 years of hands‑on experience as an application engineer or customer support role
Desirable Attributes
* Proficiency in formal verification
* Exposure to the complete software development process, including configuration management (git/gerrit)
* Knowledge of Docker containers
* Eagerness to travel to other ARM sites globally
