We are currently recruiting for PSV technicians for our engineering operation based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Please note we are happy to consider HGV mechanics with a desire to expand their skillset.
You can CHOOSE between Monday to Friday as your core hours, or work on a 4 days on 4 days off (whichever you prefer).
As a PSV technician, you will be responsible for working as part of a team maintaining our fleet of minibuses and coaches. Daily work will involve a mixture of routine servicing/inspections/maintenance as well as repair work to vehicles as required.
The workshop has all the facilities you would expect in a modern environment, including 2 inspection pits and a brand new brake tester. Our coaches are mainly Mercedes, Scania and DAF.
Day-to-Day Typical Roles and Responsibilities
* Routine servicing and maintenance of vehicles, including PMI checks. Preventative maintenance to ensure minimal risk of vehicle failure
* Vehicle defect rectification, fault finding and running repairs
* Basic bodywork damage repair
* MOT preparation
* Vehicle diagnostics and electrical fault-finding
* Breakdown response as required
* Ensure all maintenance within the companies O-license guidelines
* Ensure all work undertaken is over and above DVSA standards
* Ensure all work undertaken is in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Essential Requirements
* IRTEC / City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. If this is not possessed, time served experience will also be considered.
* A can-do attitude with the ability to self-motivate
* Experience with diagnostic equipment, specifically Jaltest
* Electrical experience
* PC literate
* Own tools
* Car Driving License
