LECTURER in Psychology
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford College
Hours: Full-time & Part Time Positions Available
Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 per annum

The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2,000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices and work with over 850 individual employers. Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.
We are looking for a Lecturer of A Level Psychology within our Academic Studies Department.
Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer with a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery. You will have demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and used this to help them reach their true potential. Experience of, or the ability to teach, at least A Level Psychology is required.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, self‑motivated and a team player. As well as relevant experience, you will be qualified with a Social Science related degree.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through activities such as open days and liaison with local employers and schools.
* Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials, writing schemes of work, and mentoring.
* Monitor retention, achievement and pass rates.
Required Skills and Experience
* Holds a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
* Has an appropriate teaching qualification.
* Is well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
* Has experience in the delivery of A Level Psychology.
