HGV Fleet Technician W Talent is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation operating one of the UK's largest and most advanced fleet operations within Yorkshire. We are seeking an experienced and proactive HGV Fleet Technician to support the maintenance, safety, and compliance of a busy and diverse operational fleet. This is a key hands-on role responsible for ensuring all vehicles and trailers are serviced, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and legal compliance. You will play a vital role in maintaining fleet roadworthiness, reducing vehicle downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across maintenance processes, while ensuring full compliance with DVSA standards, safety regulations, and company operating procedures. Shift Pattern Monday - Wednesday: 08:00-16:30 Thursday - Friday: 07:30-16:00 (Please note: shift pattern is due to change to an AM/PM rotation 08:00-22:00, with an additional Saturday shift 08:00-13:00) Salary £35,000 - £45,000 Job Description We are seeking an experienced and proactive HGV Fleet Technician to support the maintenance, safety, and compliance of a busy and diverse operational fleet. This is a key hands-on role responsible for ensuring all vehicles and trailers are serviced, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and legal compliance. Key Responsibilities Maintain ethical standards in line with Asset Management policies and company compliance guidelines, including Anti-Bribery and relevant competition law Service, inspect, maintain, and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles and trailers Diagnose, repair, and install electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems Overhaul electrical equipment and components Set and operate machine tools and workshop equipment Carry out welding and metal fabrication work Support MOT preparation and Department of Transport testing requirements Order parts and support stores management Support and mentor team members, including Apprentice Technicians Accurately record all work completed, including time and job details Inspect and repair workshop equipment as required Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role and skillset Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and always workshop cleanliness Qualifications & Skills NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (Level 2 with strong experience considered) Cat CE licence highly desirable Diagnostics experience/qualifications (desirable) Previous HGV or fleet maintenance experience essential Strong customer service mindset Excellent communication skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure Additional Information & Benefits Our client is committed to create an inclusive, supportive, and development-focused working environment where employees can thrive and build long-term careers within logistics and fleet operations.
