Title: Service Engineer - Night Call
Location: Guilford
The Service Engineer is responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, repairs, fault-finding, and breakdown response on a range of lift equipment. The role is critical to delivering excellent customer service, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting Liftec Express’s reputation for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out 100% of planned preventative maintenance visits across your portfolio to ensure units are safe, compliant, and reliable
2. Assist neighbouring territories, when required.
3. Respond to lift breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs within agreed SLAs, aiming to achieve first-time fix
4. Carry out minor repairs to maintain continual operation and prevent escalations
5. Use field management tools accurately in real-time to record activity, ensure job closure, and support billing accuracy
6. Proactively identify and report additional repairs, upgrades, or modernisation opportunities that benefit the customer and business
7. Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency breakdown support outside normal working hours
8. Deliver excellent customer service on-site by communicating clearly, professionally, and respectfully
9. Always uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality in line with internal and external EHSQ requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
10. NVQ Level 3 in Lift Service, Maintenance, or Repair (essential)
11. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a service/callout engineer with strong technical knowledge (electrical and mechanical)
12. Available to work night cover.
13. Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements in lift engineering
14. Strong electrical engineering skills with proven fault-finding ability
15. Customer-focused, with clear communication and interpersonal skills
16. Professional, committed, and safety-first mindset
17. Comfortable working independently and within a team, adaptable and solution-oriented
18. Confident using digital and electronic field management tools
19. Valid UK driving licence (essential)
