Consultant in Diagnostic Neuroradiology with Interest in Head and Neck

This post holder will primarily work at the West Wing and John Radcliffe Hospital but may be required to work at any of the Trusts locations, including direct care sessions at Churchill Hospital. The role supports cross‑site work in head and neck imaging, with some clinical care sessions at Churchill Hospital.
Job Responsibilities
The successful applicant will undertake all aspects of general adult diagnostic neuroradiology and head and neck imaging, including neck diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound‑guided neck biopsies. Responsibilities also include delivering effective care, developing areas of special interest, and participating in research, development and teaching.
Qualifications/Training
* Medical Degree
* FRCR or equivalent
* Full registration with GMC
* Clinical Certificate of Training (CCT) in Radiology or registration on the GMC Specialist Register in Radiology, or within six months of achieving CCT at the time of interview
* Completed general training in radiology and in neuroradiology to specialist level or equivalent
* Completed training in a recognised neuroradiology post, with evidence of subspecialty training in head and neck imaging
* Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD, MS)
* Evidence of ultrasound and ultrasound‑guided fine‑needle aspiration/biopsy in head and neck imaging
Experience
* Expert neuroradiology opinion
* Independent reporting of all aspects of craniospinal imaging
* Participation in diagnostic neuroradiology on call
* Ability to make decisions at consultant level and manage complex clinical problems
* Experience in head and neck imaging, particularly ultrasound and ultrasound‑guided aspiration and fine‑needle biopsy
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent leadership skills and ability to lead a clinical team in a teaching hospital

* Experience with Radiology Management Systems, PACS and voice‑recognition dictation
* Participation in incident investigation
* Peer‑reviewed publications
