MRJ Associates are working on behalf of our client Islington Council who are recruiting for Administrator Officer within the Local Authority paying up to £22.00ph. YOUR NEW CONTRACT * Minimum 3 Months contract - Starting ASAP * 36 hours per week across a 5-day rota. * Payrate up to £22.00 per hour (Umbrella) PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION Working with Bright Start Islington practice teams and the integrated administrative support officers to implement and maintain administrative systems that will support the work of the specified team and advise on the administrative requirements to support the team. Providing a comprehensive and efficient administrative service to all members of the Bright Start Islington Team, thus ensuring the service operates effectively and efficiently DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * To take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons / vulnerable adults in your care and those who you come into contact with. * To undertake regular Child Protection training at a level commensurate with role. * To provide a comprehensive administrative support service and maintain and improve administrative systems. * Work co-operatively with supervisors and colleagues to assist in providing a comprehensive, efficient and flexible administrative service, thus ensuring the service operates effectively and efficiently. * To maintain good working relationships with other teams within Children’s Services, other Council departments, partner agencies and children, young people and parents/carers referred to the service. * To assist in ensuring that paper and electronic filing systems are accurate, accessible and kept up-to-date * To maintain and update the data across a range of information systems * To deal sensitively with enquiries or telephone messages, logging calls accurately and alerting social work staff or managers immediately to any issues requiring immediate attention. * To use Microsoft Office to produce reports, spreadsheets and other documents as required and in the correct format. * To process incoming and outgoing communications * Carry out basic financial tasks, e.g. reconciling and paying out of petty cash, issuing of travel warrants, the processing invoices for payment, making purchase card payments and monitoring expenditure. * Assisting with meeting preparation, room bookings, verifying attendance, providing hospitality and taking and producing minutes. * To ensure an adequate and accessible supply of stationery and consumables are provided to the team and to monitor equipment repairs and replacements. * To undertake duties appropriate to the role and grade as directed by the line manager * To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY * Educated to at least GCSE or equivalent with Pass in English language * Displays an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people * Sound knowledge and well-developed skills in the use of ICT, in particular Microsoft Office applications * Understanding of the range of services available to children under 5 and their families. * Ability to use and maintain administrative support systems in a busy public sector environment * Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and partner organisations and to work collaboratively as a member of a team * Ability to pass a literacy test covering spelling and grammar WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW If you are interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now
