We’re partnering with a respected name in the Facilities Management/Building Services space to find their first Head of Commercial. Following a recent MBO and with ambitious plans for both organic and acquisitive growth, the business is investing in its Senior Leadership Team and this role is a cornerstone of that journey.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take full ownership of all commercial activities across the business. From tendering and framework management through to contract reviews, cost control, and final accounts.
You’ll:
* Lead commercial policy development, improving processes, compliance, and profitability.
* Take ownership of framework agreements, bids, and tenders - ensuring commercial rigour and consistency.
* Build commercial awareness across project and engineering teams through training, mentoring, and collaboration.
* Oversee contract reviews, budgets, and supply chain agreements to enhance efficiency and manage risk.
* Play a key role in future business growth, including potential acquisitions and new market opportunities.

* Proven experience within building services, M&E, or a similar project-based/estimating environment.
* Strong financial understanding (balance sheet, P&L, WIP).
* The ability to communicate and influence across all levels - from boardroom to site.
* Comfortable being visible, engaging customers, and mentoring internal teams.
* A pragmatic leader with a “can-do” mindset - measured, professional, and people-focused.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent but with a national remit, you can expect a salary of up to £70,000pa plus bonus, car allowance and mileage, private medical cover, pension, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holiday (with Christmas shutdown), an employee rewards platform, volunteering days and life assurance.
