Senior Ecologist — Inverness
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 + excellent benefits
Location: Inverness (hybrid / flexible)
Hours: 40 hrs/week

Role Overview
Join a mission‑driven environmental consultancy of 10–15 staff as a Senior Ecologist. You’ll help lead a small team, shape your own workload, and deliver diverse fieldwork and technical reporting across peatland restoration, bats, woodland creation, and renewable energy projects throughout Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver ecological surveys and technical reports (bats, habitats, peatland, GWDTE)
* Provide occasional ECoW cover (training available)
* Mentor and manage a team of 2–3 ecologists
* Build and maintain client relationships, contributing to project delivery across wind, housing, and woodland schemes
* Travel to remote sites including Skye and the Western Isles (air travel provided)
Candidate Profile
* Experience in ecological consultancy or a related field
* Strong skills in survey methods, data handling, and high‑quality report writing
* Confident leading teams and mentoring junior staff
* Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, planning, and survey standards
* Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel regularly (including air travel to islands)
* Experience in renewables, housing, or habitat creation is an advantage
