Overview
We are looking for an experienced Forge Setter Operator to join a well-established forging and engineering facility in Wolverhampton. This hands-on role involves setting and operating forging machinery to produce high-quality metal components for a variety of industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate forging equipment including power hammers, presses, and upsetters
* Install and adjust tooling and dies to match job specifications
* Heat and shape metal using furnaces or induction heaters
* Perform in-process checks using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings and process instructions
* Carry out routine maintenance and keep work area clean and safe
* Follow all health & safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
What We\re Looking For
Essential:
* Previous experience in a forge setting or hot metal working environment
* Strong understanding of forging equipment and tooling setup
* Ability to read technical drawings and use measurement tools
* Good awareness of safety procedures in heavy industry
* Physically fit and comfortable working in high-heat, noisy conditions
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering or related field
* Forklift or overhead crane licence
* Experience in a fast-paced production environment
