About the Role
Bennett & Game are exclusively supporting a well-established and ambitious Plant Hire business entering a major phase of growth. With new depot openings planned, increased headcount, and a target to double revenue, we are seeking an Operations Director to work directly with the Business Owner and lead this next stage of expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple depots.
* Implement scalable processes, systems, and KPIs to support rapid business growth.
* Lead the launch of new branches and ensure operational readiness.
* Drive commercial performance: utilisation, margins, pricing, customer service.
* Support and manage key accounts; handle escalations when required.
* Lead, mentor, and grow operational teams; support significant headcount expansion.
* Maintain strong H&S, compliance, fleet management, and operational standards.
Experience Required
* Plant Hire experience is essential.
* Senior operational leadership within plant, equipment hire, or related sectors.
* Proven success managing depots, teams, fleets, and key customers.
* Experience scaling operations or opening new depots.
* Strong commercial understanding of hire operations and performance drivers.
Personal Attributes
* Hands-on, proactive, and confident leading change.
* Strong communicator able to influence at all levels.
* Commercially minded, structured, and results-focused.
* Comfortable working closely with an owner-led business.
