Job Overview
This is an exciting leadership opportunity with responsibility for the day‑to‑day management and coordination of DSU 1 theatres and Ophthalmic theatres. The post holder will work collaboratively with senior colleagues to lead the theatre complex, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care. You will also play a key role within the theatre coordination team, undertaking coordinator duties on a rotational basis across weekdays and weekends.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care throughout the peri‑operative journey. They will practise autonomously, uphold professional standards in line with NMC or HCPC Codes of Conduct, ensure safe care in accordance with local and national guidelines, and act as a senior role model while demonstrating a flexible and proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Qualifications - Essential
* Registered Nurse NMC OR Operating Department Practitioner AHP
* Educated to Degree level in healthcare or equivalent experience
* Recent and relevant post registration experience in the Operating Theatre environment
Qualifications - Desirable
* Educated to Master’s degree level
* Minimum 3 years post registration experience
* Experience of change management
Experience - Essential
* Relevant experience in an acute NHS Trust
* Ability to utilise and implement evidence‑based practice
* Ability to lead and manage a team
Experience - Desirable
* Microsoft IT skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint/EPIC/In Phase
* Experience in supervision/assessing and mentorship
* Teaching experience in a clinical environment
Skills and Knowledge - Essential
* Ability to manage own/supervise other workloads

* Post Anaesthetic Care Unit experience
