We’re looking for a Care Solicitor to join a collaborative family team in Preston.
You’ll work in a warm and supportive environment where everyone helps each other out, with clear prospects for progression and the opportunity to work towards Children Panel membership.
This is a fantastic chance to take on meaningful care work, benefit from the support of partners with strong guardian links, and grow your own caseload over the next 12–24 months.
Who we’re looking for
4. Care Solicitor, ideally 2+ PQE – though strong NQs with experience will be considered
5. Advocacy experience, or willingness to develop in this area
6. Children Panel accreditation
7. Confident networker, able to build relationships with local authorities
8. Collaborative, supportive team player with a “roll up your sleeves” approach
What you’ll be doing
9. Managing a childcare caseload, starting small and building with partner support
10. Handling care proceedings, pre-proceedings, and other public childcare matters
11. Working with your own paralegal and a shared secretary
12. Supporting and guiding junior colleagues, including an NQ recently hired into the team
13. Getting involved in networking to strengthen links with guardians and local authorities
Salary & Benefits
14. Salary: £35,000–£55,000 depending on experience (higher if strong advocacy skills)
