An exciting opportunity has arisen to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within Croydon Talking Therapies.
Training Programme
Training to become a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner is offered in partnership with University College London (UCL). Trainees will undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions, combining university study one day per week with service work four days per week.
Positions & Commencement
We are looking to train up to nine Trainee PWPs. The posts will commence at the beginning of October 2026.
Employment & Funding
Trainees will be employed by South London & Maudsley NHS Trust. Training course fees are fully funded by the NHS, and trainees will receive a salary from the London IAPT service for the four‑day placement each week.

Eligibility
* Experience working with individuals experiencing psychological, interpersonal or social difficulties – in paid or voluntary roles.
* Demonstrated aptitude for postgraduate study, either through a degree or equivalent academic qualification.
* International students are not eligible, and the course does not sponsor overseas applicants.
Work Setting
PWPs work with people across the adult age range, using telephone, digital platforms and face‑to‑face encounters. The posts are not fully home‑based; some remote work is available for academic elements.
