Job Summary
Crickhowell Group Practice is a 5-partner practice serving approximately 9000 patients. We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly salaried GP to cover a maternity leave. All levels of experience are supported. The role involves 6 sessions per week, with consideration for a job share arrangement.
Main Duties of the Job
You will handle a wide variety of health needs in a primary care setting, working individually and as part of a team to ensure high standards of care. You will also perform administrative and clinical duties related to the position. We are an EMIS practice.
About Us
Crickhowell Group Practice is based in Crickhowell, Powys, within the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Located six miles from Abergavenny, 13 miles from Brecon, and 25 miles from Cardiff, we enjoy good local amenities. We serve Crickhowell, Llangatock, Llangenney, Gilwern, and surrounding villages.
The practice includes 8 doctors (5 GP partners and 3 salaried GPs) and 5 nursing staff (FTE). We have an in-house pharmacy and are a dispensing practice, supported by district nurses, MSK physio, frailty practitioners, health visitors, and community mental health colleagues. We are high achievers under the QAIF and receive excellent patient satisfaction ratings. We are a busy center committed to high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities
The post-holder will manage diverse health needs, ensuring high standards of care for all patients. Responsibilities include:
* Conducting consultations (surgery, telephone, home visits), managing queries, signing prescriptions, and handling correspondence.
* Making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Assessing undifferentiated health problems.
* Screening for disease risks and early signs.
* Developing care plans and providing health education.
* Recording consultation notes and collecting data for audits.
* Issuing prescriptions and prescribing appropriately.
* Undertaking medical reports and maintaining safeguarding standards.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP, MRCGP, full GMC registration, on the National Performers List.
Experience
* Previous primary care experience.

* DBS check and UK professional registration.
* Eligibility for UK work and sponsorship if applicable.
