We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join a well-established precision engineering environment. This is a permanent, day shift role offering a great work-life balance with a 4-day working week.
You will be responsible for setting and operating fixed head CNC turning machines, ensuring high-quality production and efficient machining processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC fixed head turning machines to produce precision components
* Carry out full machine set-ups in line with tooling layouts and process requirements
* Produce first-off components and ensure quality standards are met before production runs
* Monitor production, manage tooling wear, and adjust offsets where required
* Perform in-process inspection using a range of measurement equipment
* Prepare tooling and materials for upcoming production runs
* Record production data and update systems accurately
* Support continuous improvement and maintain high housekeeping standards (5S)
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience in CNC turning, ideally fixed head machines
* Proven ability to set and operate CNC machinery independently
* Experience with multi-spindle or multi-turret machines and live tooling
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and NC programs
* Good understanding of tooling, materials, and cutting data
* Confident using inspection equipment and measurement techniques
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience with FANUC controls
* CAD/CAM knowledge (e.g. Fusion 360, EdgeCAM, SolidCAM)
* Exposure to sliding head machining
