Overview
The appointees will join with the existing Acute Physicians in the Department of Acute Medicine at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Though this primarily post is based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, cross site work may be required at Peterborough City Hospital.
Eligibility and Support
Specialists in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine recognised by the EEC are eligible to apply. Appropriate office accommodation, secretarial support and IT support will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Provide a high quality, safe and compassionate care, to the acutely ill medical patients admitted to our hospital and provide them the best possible experience during their admission.
* Active participation in Trust Clinical Governance activities, including audit, mortality review, and appraisal process. Ensure data collection and processing undertaken is consistently accurate and timely and complies with the Trust Data Quality Policy and Information Governance procedures.
* Teaching and training and supervision of doctors, nurses, and students in order to promote a positive and supportive atmosphere.
* Maintain a record of Continuous professional development (CPD), including Trust Mandatory training process.
* Engage in regular appraisal process for revalidation purposes.
* Undertake activities, defined and agreed in Job plan, using the appropriate leadership skills to contribute to the achievement of the Trust and Department goals.
* Develop and promote departmental clinical guidelines with colleagues, in line with evidence-based best practice.
