We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B remand prison based in Winchester, Hampshire. The prison houses around 706 patients and is a busy environment where every day is different. This role is focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients, and you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SMS prescriber, ACP and other GPs.

* Wednesday: 18:00 - 22:00
* Saturday: 13:00 - 18:00
Salary
This position is part time. You will receive an annual salary up to £131,157 per annum FTE depending on experience.

Our General Practitioners are highly valued and respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. Your responsibilities will vary and include:
* Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, with opportunities to develop knowledge beyond a traditional practice or A&E environment
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients and make timely decisions regarding future management
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare team members on site, with active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities

Requirements
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these
