We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Lancaster Farms. HMP Lancaster Farms is a Category C Prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster and supports around 550 male patients aged 18–70. In this role you will work with an integrated multidisciplinary team—including ACPs and NMPs—to deliver a high‑quality healthcare service and prescribing. The focus will be on care for patients with long‑term conditions, acute needs and substance misuse. A second GP focuses on mental health services.
Hours
20 hours / 5 sessions per week. We are flexible on how this is worked; it could be across 2.5–3 days a week between Monday and Friday.
Salary
Part‑time role with a salary between £103,600 and £124,320 per annum, FTE dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
* Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, further developing your knowledge in areas you might not typically encounter in general practice or A&E.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients, making timely decisions regarding future management.
* Serve as a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team on site, enhancing patient care.
* Be actively involved in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
Qualifications required
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients who have a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse levels 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications
