Join a Progressive and Ambitious Construction Team in Plymouth
Due to continued success and growth, we are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a passionate and creative construction team based in Plymouth. This is a permanent, full-time role, working on a £5million high end scheme.
You’ll be responsible for the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account, supporting delivery teams and ensuring strong cost control and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the commercial function of the project.
2. Collaborate with Health & Safety advisors to promote safe working practices.
3. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
4. Mentor junior team members and support their development.
5. Oversee tendering processes, contract negotiations, and preparation of subcontractor agreements.
6. Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, variations, and final accounts.
7. Produce monthly cost and value reports for senior management.
8. Prepare and submit applications for payment in accordance with contract terms.
9. Manage change control and ensure contract timescales and notices are adhered to.
10. Monitor and forecast project cash flow.
11. Ensure technical compliance, identify risks, and contribute to effective project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
12. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a main contractor environment.
13. Experience delivering projects up to £5M.
14. Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
15. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

17. Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
