Role description
Join our team as a Cost Consultant, collaborating with project and senior-level professionals to deliver high-quality projects. You\'ll liaise with external contractors and consultants, take ownership of specific cost management tasks, and ensure delivery standards align with objectives. This role requires independent work, leveraging your technical expertise and practical experience in the field.
Role accountabilities
* Perform cost control tasks by reviewing financial data for anomalies to ensure accurate, up-to-date information for management.
* Contribute to professional cost management assignments and oversee junior colleagues\' work to meet project milestones.
* Adhere to risk and compliance principles, addressing unsafe situations or risks to prevent project disruptions.
* Analyze data and produce documentation (e.g., schedules, cost reports) to support senior decision-making.
* Evaluate and improve cost and commercial management processes, sharing knowledge and advice.
* Apply technical expertise to complex tasks, prioritizing workload and aligning with established policies.
* Provide specialist cost management advice to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service.
* Assist senior staff in resolving stakeholder issues by identifying and suggesting solutions for client satisfaction.
* Support the internal team and manage junior staff on projects valued between £5m and £150m.
Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
* Experience in delivering analysis and insights
* Technical knowledge in specialised field, including construction processes and/or cost and commercial management
* Advanced proficiency with desktop applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Knowledge of own area of specialism and a developing understanding of wider organisational and programme environment
* Capable of supporting senior colleagues on a project through from inception to completion
* Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
Advantageous
* Experience in NEC Contract Suites
* In depth knowledge of the Defence & Security sector
* Ability to obtain SC clearance
* Ability to obtain DV clearance
