Job Description
* Prepare and present high-quality pastry items in line with 5-star standards
* Produce desserts, afternoon tea items, breads, and plated desserts as required
* Maintain consistency, portion control, and exceptional presentation
* Assist in menu development, tastings, and seasonal menu changes
* Ensure all mise en place is prepared efficiently and to specification
* Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
* Minimise waste and support cost control within the pastry section
* Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team during service
* Support and mentor junior pastry chefs and commis where required
Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie in a 5-star hotel or fine-dining environment
* Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques
* Experience with afternoon tea and high-end dessert service preferred
* High attention to detail and presentation
* Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)
* Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings
