The Role
As a Motor Transport Driver, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, supporting the movement of personnel and equipment that keeps our defence services running smoothly. You’ll operate a range of vehicles including 4x4s, Land Rovers, HGVs, minibuses, and coaches, depending on your licence. Whether you’re maintaining vehicles, assisting customers, or ensuring readiness, your work will make a real difference and open doors for your own career development.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
• Performing Level 1 vehicle maintenance to authorised standards
• Supporting vehicle readiness through cleaning, washing, and refuelling
• Assisting customers during equipment usage and charge periods
• Carrying out transport-related duties to meet operational needs
• Completing driver-related admin tasks including route planning and CPC logs
The role is based onsite at Bovington, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Motor Transport Driver:
• Military driving experience is highly valued
• Confident communicator with strong customer service skills
• Competent in driver admin tasks including timesheets and driver hours
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to operational requirements
Qualifications for the Motor Transport Driver:
1. Minimum HGV Class 2 and/or PSV licence
2. Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
3. Class 1 HGV licence (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
