Senior Pricing Actuary, Large Corp Financial Lines

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary, Large Corp Financial Lines, based in London.
We are part of the Global Pricing team within the Chief Underwriting Office at AGCS, and we are responsible for understanding the AGCS portfolio, performance and the delivery of sustainable profitability across the Allianz Commercial business segment. A senior pricing actuary will join an international team located across London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago and New York, and will advance global pricing capabilities.
Impact
Reporting to the Head of Pricing Financial Lines Large Corp, you will support the Large Corp Financial Lines business line (Management Liability Commercial, Management Liability Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity) in assessing segment‑level profitability, feeding into underwriting strategy, portfolio management and technical price implementation and reporting. You will also be an integral part to the Case & Portfolio solutions pricing process.
Responsibilities
Conduct in‑depth profitability reviews proactively and in response to concerning leading KPIs, analyzing individual accounts and business segments, ensuring findings lead to meaningful portfolio actions and are integrated into technical pricing models.
Develop and maintain pricing and underwriting tools, refining them through recalibrations and statistical pricing methodologies and identifying market trends to recommend pricing strategy adjustments.
Assist Underwriting in pricing for individual cases and portfolio solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Oversee the outcomes of steering activities following profitability analyses and pricing implementation, ensuring effective monitoring and adjustments as needed.
Apply advanced actuarial techniques and predictive analytics to assess risk and model pricing scenarios, collaborating with Global Pricing teams to improve pricing accuracy.
Support the Allianz Commercial setup by providing Large Corp expertise to enhance pricing capabilities for Mid and Large Corp segments.
Qualifications
Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable discipline.
Qualified P&C Actuary.
At least 7 years experience in a pricing‑focused actuarial role, ideally within the commercial insurance or reinsurance sector.
Expert knowledge in Casualty Lines (Liability, Financial Lines) portfolio.
In‑depth knowledge of actuarial predictive modelling techniques for an international portfolio, with high‑volatile segments and challenging data availability.
Strong ability to work closely with Underwriters and support in individual risk assessment and pricing.
Advanced proficiency in statistical computing language and actuarial modelling software and tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS or equivalent) with solid programming experience.
Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision‑making is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts for non‑technical audiences.
Ability to work in a team with experience in mentoring and developing junior professionals.
Strong conceptual and strategic capabilities, combined with flexibility, creativity and innovation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and changing environment.
Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
