The Opportunity
This is an international role within the Pandemic & Outbreak commercial team, requiring strong interaction with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Quality Team.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic and focused team tomaintaina leadership position in pandemic and outbreak preparedness and grow the business. This will be delivered through:
1. Growing our existing preparedness and response partnerships anddeveloping and evolving a new business segment.
2. Optimising access to the capacity available fromLaunchofa new vaccine manufacturing facilityand increased response capacity.
3. Geo-expansion of the government customer base
The Role:
4. Requires ability to influence others to accept job area’s views and practices, and ability to communicate with peers and executive leadership.
5. Lead the development and writing of complex bids or proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) or tender invitations.
6. Develop and implement winning bid strategies based on thorough analysis of customer requirements, marketintelligenceand trends.
7. Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to develop proposal strategy
8. Manage bid timelines and deadlines to ensuretimelysubmission.
9. Explain and negotiate with government procurement teams tooptimisedelivery of tender bids.
10. Maintain robust tender and contract management practicesand use experience and on-the-job learning to drive continual improvement and internal efficiencies.
11. Contribute to the Pandemic & Outbreak strategic and tactical planning and operational plan implementation
12. Support operational planning in the Int. Region to deliver growth plans and manage existing government customers collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Your Skills and Experience:
13. Bachelor’s degree in sciences, business or related.
14. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in any of the following: bid/proposal management, business development, business-to-business account management, supply chain procurement. Ideally in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or related sector.
15. The ability to analyse a broad range of issues and a demonstrated ability in strategic thinking and decision-making to credibly influence peers, seniorleadershipand customer decision makers.
16. A high levelof confidence, integrity, politicalacumenand hands-on approach to problem solving as well as a professional presence for interacting with senior management and government customers.
17. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to seamlessly collaborate with cross-functional teams.
18. Excellent organisational, analytical and communications skills, with attention to detail.
19. Excellent written and verbal communication, projectmanagementandproficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite.
20. Ability to adapt and operate calmy between short and long-term plans and be agile to manage rapid changes.
21. Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic or internationally).
Preferred experience, not critical:
22. Commercialisation of a vaccine in public / reimbursed market and directly with government customers (e.g.seasonal influenza, HPV, Pneumococcal, RSV)
23. Knowledge of Pandemic influenza and/ or COVID 19 vaccine commercialisationa significant advantage.
