Job Description:

Are you an enthusiastic, energetic, flexible, and genuinely caring individual looking for a role where you can make a life-changing difference? We're thrilled to be working with a leading independent provider of care and education for children and young people. They're all about achieving the best outcomes, and you'll be joining a friendly, supportive team who share that same focus.

Working with young people in Wellington aged 8-18 who have a range of behavioural and emotional needs, this Senior Support Worker role is all about being a positive force in their everyday lives. The impact you'll have is truly immeasurable.

Benefits of being a Senior Residential Support Worker:

Beyond the incredible satisfaction of this role, this organisation offers a fantastic benefits package, including a £500 Refer a Friend Scheme!

Competitive Pay: Earn between £14.17 - £14.99 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.

Meals & Parking: Enjoy completely free on-shift meals and parking - one less thing to worry about!

Career Growth: Benefit from training and development plans tailored to your needs, including NVQs and genuine career progression opportunities. They even have their very own Management Development Programme to take you from Support Worker to Registered Manager and beyond!

Holiday & Sickness: Get 28 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays, rising with service) and paid sickness leave.

Extra Earnings: Take advantage of additional overtime, on-call, sleep-in, and disturbance rates.

Relaxed Vibe: Enjoy a casual dress code - no suits required!

Financial Security: A solid company pension scheme.

Health Benefits: Simply Health (linked to service) for your wellbeing.

Fun Days: Get involved in days out and activity days off site with the young people.

Your Day-to-Day as a Senior Residential Support Worker:

While no two days are the same here, here's a snapshot of what you could be doing:

Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager when needed.

Ensuring the amazing Residential Care Workers are up-to-date with their learning and supporting their development.

Keeping the team clued-up on individual care plans and their implementation.

Maintaining accurate written records to track progress and enable monitoring.

Actively contributing to team and staff meetings for great communication and development.

Providing crucial support and care to the young people.

Encouraging young people in their journey back into education or engagement with their current schooling.

Travelling with young people to and from school or college.

Preparing meals and keeping the home a wonderful environment (cleaning, laundry, etc.).

Organising and facilitating social activities to keep things engaging!

This isn't an exhaustive list, of course, but it gives you a real flavour of the role!

Why This Role?

You'll be joining a strong, supportive team dedicated to helping young people with complex needs. It's challenging, absolutely, but incredibly rewarding. Those "little things" you do every day? They have life-changing results. Whether it's helping someone achieve their personal potential or contributing to the organisation's reputation as a leading provider of behavioural health services, you'll be making a difference.
With 27 Ofsted 'Outstanding Provider' Awards already under their belt, they're truly exceptional. Join as a Senior Support Worker, and together, you can achieve many, many more!

What You'll Need:

You must hold a full UK driving licence.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker you must have a desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is essential.

While 12 months of senior experience in a Residential setting is highly desirable, they also encourage applications from those just starting their journey in this type of senior role!
