About the Role

Reporting to an exceptional and inspiring Chief HR Officer, the Director of HR Business Partnering plays a critical leadership role within the HR function. This role will provide strategic leadership of the HR Partnering team ensuring alignment between people strategies and organisational goals. This is a visible, high-impact role that will shape the next evolution of HR partnering within the organisation, driving innovative, customer-focused solutions, and embedding a truly strategic partnering mindset across the team.

As a trusted advisor to senior and executive leaders, the Director will lead the transformation of HR Partnering into a proactive, client-centred function that delivers consistent, high-impact support across a highly educated and complex workforce.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and develop the HR Business Partnering team to deliver high-quality, strategic support and advice across the organisation.

* Build organisational capability by defining and modelling what "good partnering" looks like, driving a culture of trust, collaboration, and service excellence.

* Provide expert guidance on complex people and employee relations matters in an industrial, fast-changing and ambiguous environment.

* Partner with the Workplace Relations team to manage and resolve industrial matters in a fair, constructive, and values-aligned manner.

* Coach and influence senior leaders to build leadership capability and support the delivery of organisational priorities.

* Champion customer focus and continuous improvement across all People and Culture services.

About You

You are an experienced HR leader who thrives in complex, changing environments and understands the value of authentic, strategic partnership. You bring credibility, courage, and a collaborative mindset, along with strong expertise in employment and industrial relations.

You will bring:

* Significant experience leading HR Business Partnering or equivalent people functions in a large, complex organisation.

* Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in industrial and workplace relations, including engagement with unions and navigating complex employment matters.

* Proven success leading transformation and change.

* Strong leadership and coaching capability, with the ability to develop high-performing teams and influence at the executive level.

* Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Term and remuneration

The successful candidate will be offered a five-year fixed term position on a full-time basis with a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. The appointment is subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees.

Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
