About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Mental Health Research Nurse to join our Research Team within the Shire Drugs and Alcohol Service (DAS). This post will work in close collaboration with Dr Mike Turner and the University of Stirling, supporting research focused on benzodiazepine use, dependence, withdrawal, and the optimisation of prescribing and psychosocial interventions within drugs and alcohol services.
Responsibilities
* Deliver pharmacological and psychosocial interventions and support the delivery of clinical research studies related to benzodiazepine use and management.
* Identify, recruit, consent and support participants in accordance with study protocols.
* Undertake research assessments, data collection and follow‑up related to medication use, withdrawal symptoms and health outcomes.
* Liaise closely with service users, prescribers and multidisciplinary mental health teams.
* Monitor participant safety and appropriately report adverse events.
* Promote best practice in medicines safety and trauma‑informed, person‑centred care.
Qualifications
Applicants should be highly motivated, with excellent communication and team‑working skills, and committed to delivering a high standard of care when supporting individuals experiencing benzodiazepine addiction.
Location and Travel
The post is based in Peterhead and will require travel throughout north Aberdeenshire. A car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.
Relocation Allowance
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
