Job Title: Quality Assurance and Delivery Manager Reports to: Head of Awarding Reports from: Assessment Officers x2 Product Management Officer Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience) Location: Hybrid (min of 2 days per week in the Leeds office) The Quality Assurance (QA) and Delivery role within 1st4sport is to lead the team and support with the development, delivery and award of its assessment services, to ensure that 1st4sport products and/ or services meet defined quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget. The QA focuses on preventing defects and ensuring quality across 1st4sport assessment processes, while Delivery focuses on planning, executing, and delivering services. You will be responsible for working with 1st4sport in the quality assurance of outcomes for assessment activities relating to internal and external assessment activity, including examinations, portfolios and associated compliance processes and systems to support the achievement of its regulatory compliance, strategic objectives, and budgetary targets. As required, you will work with 1st4sport centres, supporting them in their quality approaches and delivery of their services. Responsible for: Quality Standards: Work with the Head of Awarding to review and agree the appropriate quality standards, and the activity required to ensure standards are consistently applied. Ensure that products or services meet specified quality standards through the management of key groups and panels, including (but not limited to) results endorsement, standardisation and product development. Provide support across 1st4sport in maintaining, reviewing and utilising risk management activities to support regulatory compliance and business continuity. Working with colleagues to identify, monitor and mitigate third party risks and actions Support the team on any matters relating to 1st4sport compliance with our regulators’ requests including timely response to any request for information, data, and development opportunities Manage the undertaking of quality and compliance activity in relation to regulatory body requirements including but not limited to: a. Support in the preparation and delivery of audits by regulator b. Carrying out quality, regulatory and compliance reviews on 1st4sport assessments to ensure that these are of high quality, meet the needs of our learners and markets and the requirements of our regulators Manage the delivery of internal and external quality assurance activities, including (but not limited to), Apprenticeship Assessment IQA, CASS, Appeals, Assessments, Compliance, Examinations, Malpractice. Monitor, action and implement regulatory guidance, data collections, strategies and adherence to the regulatory conditions of recognition of all our regulators. Support the team to make appropriate decisions and take appropriate action. Participate and lead information/standardisation events with recognised centres, training providers, partners and coaches. Manage casework/ investigations into centre/training provider practices and provide robust and supportive action plans where needed. Support the product development officer in the development of assessment materials and regulated products, including apprenticeship assessment changes. Process Improvement and delivery: Identify areas for improvement in quality and operational processes with 1st4sport team members and implement agreed changes as needed. Work with Head of Awarding on the development and ongoing review of all regulatory and operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and currency of practice. Liaise with key stakeholders including recognised centres, training providers, vendors and internal colleagues on systems and processes. Have oversight and development of the Apprenticeship Assessment/EQA IT systems to manage all elements of the Apprenticeship Assessment and EQA processes. Contribute to provision and service reviews; lead or participate in standardisation and best practice and material development activity. Team and Performance Management: Line manage team members in line with UK Coaching practice including the setting of goals and objectives, planning and organising workloads, delegating tasks, conducting regular team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and developing action plans. Oversee the management with the external assessment and quality assurance officers, including the recruitment, selection and ongoing training of external contractors. Other Undertake other duties as required to support the work of 1st4sport and UK Coaching Solutions. Follow, promote and implement UK Coaching policies for the equal treatment of all employees, applicants and customers. Essential: Experience working for an awarding body and/or training provider in a quality or process focused role Good level of digital literacy including Microsoft packages. Experience of working in operational systems delivery. Experience with Apprenticeship Assessment, Qualification Delivery and Quality Assurance. The ability to learn quickly. Ability to successfully work autonomously, and as part of a team. Experience managing people, processes and/or projects. Understanding of education regulations. Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Able to communicate directly with and work with customers, partners and sector specialists. Solutions focused. Desirable: Experience managing or coordinating examinations and assessments. Experience working with online assessment / portfolio platforms or a learning management system.
