Children's Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Children’s Diabetes CNS to join an established team dedicated to managing diabetes in children at Ipswich Hospital. You will provide specialist clinical advice and care to children and young people with diabetes.
We are looking for a confident, innovative and experienced children’s nurse who will work within a multidisciplinary team providing support to acute services. A good team player with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals, services and agencies.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist children’s diabetes service by autonomously assessing and treating your own case load of patients.
* Develop, facilitate and provide education of specialist knowledge for nursing, medical and paramedical staff.
* Advocate for children and their families, promoting child‑focused family‑centred care and acting as a resource for health care professionals involved with these patients.
* Support a specialist daily service to in‑patients, providing expert nursing interventions, advice and support to children and families.
* Support and participate in audit research and advancement of the Diabetes service, assisting with the development of specialist protocols and education packages.
* Ensure that criteria for Best Practice Tariff (BPT) are met as part of the Paediatric Diabetes team.
