Domestic Gas Surveyor – MoD Contracts Employment Type: Permanent / Full-time Work Schedule: Monday to Friday Location: London and the home counties Salary: £42,000 basic An established East Anglia–based property services provider is seeking an experienced Domestic Gas Surveyor to support its Ministry of Defence (MoD) housing contracts across London and the home counties. Our client delivers critical gas services to defence estates, local authorities, and housing associations, playing a key role in maintaining safe, compliant and operationally ready service accommodation. With offices in Surrey and East Anglia, the business continues to grow rapidly, supported by a strong in-house technical team and a 24/7 operational model. The Role * Carrying out domestic gas surveys and safety inspections within MoD housing. * Assessing gas appliances, pipework, and heating systems for compliance with current gas safety regulations and MoD standards. * Identifying defects, categorising risks and producing detailed survey reports with clear remedial recommendations. * Providing photographic evidence and accurate documentation to support planned and reactive works. * Liaising with contract managers, engineers, and compliance teams to ensure audit requirements are met. * Working in occupied and voided properties maintaining a professional, security-conscious approach at all times. What They’re Looking For * Proven experience in a Domestic Gas Surveyor or inspection-based gas role. * Valid ACS gas qualifications. * Strong working knowledge of Gas Safety Regulations and compliance reporting. * Previous experience working on MoD, defence, or secure-site contracts (desirable but not essential). * High attention to detail with strong written and reporting skills. * Full UK driving licence. * Ability to pass DBS and MoD security clearance.
