Overview
Speech and Language Therapist role at TieTalent (Brookthorpe Hall School – Gloucestershire GL4 0UN). This position is with Outcomes First Group, working within a multidisciplinary clinical team in an education setting.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils, collaborating with the education team.
* Hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration to support pupils’ development and independence.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration; 1–2 years’ experience as a fully registered RCSLT member in a similar setting.
* Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
* Experience in multidisciplinary working and in communicating with families or carers.
* Interest in developing knowledge and skills across different SaLT practice areas.
* Good relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills; strong oral and written communication; good time management and organisation.
* Competent in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types, and ability to formulate support plans based on need.
* Understanding of relevant legislation affecting clinical practice and professional management for the client group.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and willingness to attend training; potential to pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group.
Desirable
* Understanding of other differences such as sensory and motor factors impacting communication.
* Understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
* Full driving license and access to a car (highly desirable).
Location
Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucestershire – Brookthorpe Hall. The school forms part of the Options Autism brand and is an independent specialist day school for children and young people with diverse needs.
Contract and Hours
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, overlapping with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered.
* Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances).
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience).
* £2,000 training allowance after probation to support role-specific CPD.
