We're looking for an experienced Diagnostics Engineer to take a technical lead in scripting, testing and delivering update packs using an automated update tool. This role is pivotal in supporting vehicle update processes and ensuring smooth integration across multiple systems.
You'll be the first point of contact for all vehicle update issues, leading technical investigations and acting as the interface between version management and vehicle update centres.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate automated vehicle update scripts using Flamingo
* Attend change control meetings and liaise with project teams to understand requirements
* Create bespoke test scripts and confirm compatibility with baselines and systems
* Produce Beta and Final update packs for project vehicles
* Test and validate updates on fleet vehicles, identifying integration dependencies
* Analyse update results and resolve issues preventing rollout
* Ensure compliance with UNECE regulations for vehicle updates
* Provide technical support and recommendations to internal teams (Engineering, Quality, Aftersales, etc.)
* Administer Flamingo tool access and support new users
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong understanding of VW Group electrical architecture
* Hands-on experience with vehicle flashing and configuration
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and scripting
* Knowledge of systems management and car-specific configurations
* Experience with tools such as CP Tool, Vector

Location: Onsite preferred (hybrid will be considered - min 3 days onsite)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Until end of May 2026
Start: ASAP
Driving: UK and possible international travel
