The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. The Senior Social Work Practitioner role will uphold operational requirements and monitor timely statutory responsibilities. They will maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, council policies, and procedures.
The role involves line managing Best Interests Assessors (BIAs) within the team by offering regular supervision, completing necessary paperwork, and engaging in performance management monitoring as required.
The post holder will be responsible for completing DoLS authorisations, managing the team during the team leader's absence, supervising staff, and working on a duty rota to handle enquiries into the team. Additionally, the Senior Social Work Practitioner will contribute to development work within the DoLS Team and provide expertise in Mental Capacity law.
