About the role Reporting to: Head of SEO Job type: Permanent Salary: Competitive Working Pattern & Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week Location: Hybrid/Flexible (Office located: Skelmersdale, Lancashire, WN8) As SEO Manager, you’ll be reporting to the Head of SEO. You will be responsible for planning and executing organic search strategies that drive growth across our e-commerce brands. The role includes implementing SEO campaigns, analysing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure SEO is integrated across PPC, content, email, PR, and social media. Key Responsibilities As SEO Manager, you will be responsible for the following key areas: SEO Strategy & Planning • Develop and execute SEO strategies to drive sustainable organic growth. • Conduct keyword, topic, and search intent research to identify opportunities. • Identify competitor gaps and growth areas within the search landscape. • Stay informed about industry trends, algorithm updates, AI developments, and connected marketing channels such as social and analytics. • Work with internal teams to develop integrated digital strategies. • Strong commercial understanding of ecommerce. • Communicate effectively with product and development teams regarding change requests. Technical & Content SEO • Conduct technical, content, and backlink audits. • Produce detailed SEO content briefs based on keyword and competitor research. • Plan and contribute to off-site SEO initiatives including Digital PR research and ideation. • Manage processes required to run SEO campaigns. • Produce and manage keyword, topic, and intent research, plus technical, content, and link audits (including documentation and analysis). • Collaborate with SEO specialists, copywriters, product teams, and other internal stakeholders to deliver projects. • Increase your own and the organisation's SEO knowledge. • Help plan natural search campaign strategies across all brands. • Analyse campaign performance, identifying opportunities and required strategic changes. Collaboration & Campaign Delivery • Work closely with product, development, content, and marketing teams to implement SEO initiatives. • Manage projects and workflows required to deliver SEO campaigns. Performance & Reporting • Monitor campaign performance and identify optimisation opportunities. • Produce clear internal reports, studies, and presentations that meet Chemist4U brand standards. • Responsible for managing SEO for one of our internal brands, including specific performance reporting. Team Development • Mentor junior SEO and marketing team members. • Stay up to date with search trends, algorithm changes, and the impact of AI on search. About You We’re looking for a commercially minded SEO specialist who enjoys blending strategy with hands on delivery. You’re confident working across technical and content SEO, comfortable using data to spot opportunities and guide decisions, and enjoy collaborating with product, development and marketing teams to make things happen. You stay curious about the evolving search landscape, including AI and algorithm changes, take ownership of performance, and enjoy sharing knowledge while helping others grow. Qualifications & Experience To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong blend of hands on SEO expertise, analytical capability, and collaborative working, alongside a proven ability to turn insight into impact across organic search and wider digital channels. The following skills and experience are ideal for this role: • 6 years of hands-on SEO experience across technical, on-page, and content-led organic search strategies • Track record in managing and scaling SEO campaigns integrated with broader digital marketing and social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and ROI • Expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and proficiency with modern SEO analytics tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, and other industry-leading platforms • Proficient with productivity suites including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and collaborative tools such as Monday and Jira • Proficient with a range of CMS systems such as Magento, Wordpress and Payload • Adept at data storytelling - translating complex analytics into actionable insights for stakeholders • Process Improvement - You seek and implement solutions to improve processes • Team Collaboration - You'll be great at collaborating with team members to achieve common goals, valuing and respecting diverse contributions • Problem Solving - When faced with a problem, you collaborate with the appropriate people to evaluate different options find practical solutions.
