Your role:
You will coordinate all activities relating to SEND transport for both home to school transport and adult social care transport services across the Wigan Borough. You will ensure that all eligible children and young people with SEND and vulnerable adults receive appropriate, efficient and safe transport.
This will be achieved through undertaking route planning, risk/ needs assessments, creating support plans, supporting with incident management and engaging with stake holders to ensure that all transport routes are safe, efficient and cost effective.
About you:
You will be passionate and have a background of delivering exceptional services for children and/ or adults with special educational needs and disabilities. Your drive for service improvement will be obvious and your understand of the client base, their needs and requirements will be strong.
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a dynamic environment with a knowledge of route planning and logistic management within a transport environment. You will have strong problem solving abilities and a logical, structured approach to work.

We transport over 1200 children and around 300 adults daily to around 100 different sites, both in and out of the borough. It’s a fast-paced environment as we ensure the smooth running of the service, whilst engaging with stakeholders such as parents, schools and social workers.
