The Role
Job Purpose
To provide safe, timely, and effective clinical care within East Kent Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) based at WHH and QEQM.You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting via NHS 111 bookings, A&E redirections, and walk-ins, working collaboratively with nursing, reception, and allied professionals under the East Kent UTC Alliance (EKHUFT, Invicta Health CIC, Thanet Health CIC and IC24).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Deliver face-to-face consultations and urgent care for patients presenting with acute or minor illness and injury.
2. Undertake clinical assessments, investigations, and management plans in line with UTC clinical pathways.
3. Provide advice to patients and referrers on appropriate care, treatment, and safety-netting.
4. Liaise with A&E teams, community services, and primary care partners to ensure seamless care.
5. Supporteffective triage, prioritisation, and redirection of patients where clinically appropriate.
6. Maintain accurate clinical records on CLEO and EMIS systems and complete statutory documentation promptly.
7. Work within IC24s prescribing formulary and clinical governance framework.
8. Participate in audit, learning events and educational sessions.
9. Promote team working and positive engagement with colleagues across Alliance sites.
