We are looking for a Lead Web Analyst to join our eCommerce team! This position is based from Next Head Office in Leicestershire with a competitive salary range and great benefits!
The Data Team enables the department and the business to elevate understanding of customer behaviours and sales performance - what is working and what is not by articulating actionable insights from complex data.
About the Role
As a Lead Web Analyst, you will act as the strategic owner for web analytics within your designated business area, driving the roadmap for how we understand on-site visitor behavior and experience. You will not only highlight profit opportunities but also lead the integration of data-driven decision-making across the department, ensuring that digital product development aligns with long-term business goals.
You will oversee the interpretation of web and app online data to drive strategic direction. So what does this mean day-to-day for you as a Lead Web Analyst at NEXT, specifically?
* Own analytics of digital product development within eCommerce, partnering with the Online Trading, CRO, and UX teams to ensure new feature performance is measured and captured.
* Interrogate large-scale datasets across customer, transactional, and online sources, ensuring data integrity and sophisticated modeling.
* Present insights to senior leadership, translating complex business requirements and data into clear summaries and recommendations.
* Create clear, concise reports and dashboards that leverage big data and complex aggregations into easy to understand visualisations.
* Track and analyse website metrics using SQL to query Google Analytics data in Google BigQuery.
* Provide guidance to junior analysts, foster a culture of analytical excellence and continuous learning.
About You
Essential Skills
* Experience extracting and manipulating data from denormalised sources using SQL, Google BigQuery and Databricks.
* Advanced ability to define key metrics and translate broad business goals into technical measurement briefs.
* Experience creating dashboards in Looker Studio, Power BI or similar.
* High confidence in using Google Sheets and Slides to create professional, data-driven narratives.
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with Web Analytics implementation and debugging methods.
* Experience with Google Analytics, Firebase or Adobe Analytics.
* Experience specifically with app data.
* Familiarity with session tracking and customer journey mapping.
* Ability to extract and manipulate data from multiple data sources.
* Experience working on an ecommerce site.
* Experience working across the retail or fashion industry.
