Role outline

The Technical and Operational Delivery Manager is a hands-on delivery leader focused on enabling the successful execution of major Technology-led initiatives - and, over time, broader business-critical change projects. They bring delivery discipline, cross-functional coordination, and structured risk visibility to complex initiatives, helping teams move forward, unblock decisions, and communicate progress in a way the business can act on. Their role supports more realistic, informed roadmap planning - not by setting priorities, but by helping the organisation understand what’s possible and what needs to change.

Roles and responsibilities

* Facilitate Technical Project Delivery - Facilitate the scoping, planning, and execution of Technology-led initiatives, including platform upgrades, system integrations, infrastructure enhancements, and operational tooling improvements by supporting tech teams in progressing work and delivery momentum
* Strengthen Delivery Systems and Ways of Working - Design and embed lightweight improvements to enhance visibility, risk management, and delivery predictability whilst also encouraging more cross-functional communications and collaboration
* Cross-Team Dependency and Risk Management – Facilitate the identification, tracking of critical dependencies and risks across Tech, Architecture, Product and broader operational teams.
* Facilitate Business-Level Delivery Transparency - Create and maintain clear, accessible reporting that enables leadership to make informed trade-offs and decisions about delivery progress, roadmap feasibility, and organisational priorities.
* Instil Delivery Discipline - Help teams adopt consistent, practical delivery habits - including clear planning, timelines, ownership, and decision-making practices that increase delivery reliability.
* Enable Change Adoption and Expectation Management - Support business areas in understanding the effort, risk, and trade-offs involved in delivering major initiatives, helping to recalibrate expectations and improve adoption
* Contribute to Future Operational Scaling- Capture lessons learned during delivery; recommend scalable improvements to delivery practices, cross-team coordination models, and operational tooling as the organisation grows

The ideal candidate

Must have

* Proven experience delivering complex technical initiatives (platforms, integrations, infrastructure)
* Strong grasp of delivery practices (scoping, planning, dependency and risk management)
* Strong delivery background in technical environments (but not necessarily a technologist)
* Experience improving or enabling cross-functional ways of working
* Comfortable working with technical stakeholders (without needing to be hands-on tech)
* Clear, structured communicator - adept at surfacing risks and supporting decisions
* Exposure to cross-functional change or operational improvement projects
* Exposure to working with Tech Leads, Architects, and operational stakeholders

Nice-to-have

* Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tooling
* Experience with team enablement and coaching

Role details

* Working arrangements - Hybrid - 3 days a week in office
* Office location - Fleet Street, City of London
