Deputy Manager – Learning Disabilities Support – Carmarthenshire
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a reputable organisation in Carmarthenshire. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to lead a team, promote independence among residents, and make a tangible difference in their lives.
Based in Carmarthenshire, the Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in the smooth day‑to‑day running of a residential care home, supporting residents to engage actively with the community while respecting their dignity and personal rights. The role will support the management team in delivering high-quality care, ensuring all legislative and organisational standards are met.
Key duties
* Assisting in the effective daily operation of the home, stepping into the Home Managers role when required
* Developing staff rotas to ensure consistent care coverage and operational efficiency
* Leading staff supervision, appraisals, and return-to-work processes to maintain a motivated team
* Chairing staff meetings in the absence of the Home Manager
* Acting as on‑call support, providing guidance on resident care and staff decisions
* Upholding safeguarding policies, promoting resident independence, and encouraging social and community activities
Ideal candidates will have
* Proven experience at a senior level within residential social care, ideally supporting adults with learning disabilities
* At least Level 3 QCF in Care or an equivalent qualification
* Flexibility to work a 37.5‑hour week, including evenings, weekends, and sleep‑in nights, on a rota basis
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* A commitment to promoting residents personal growth and community engagement
* An enhanced DBS check clearance
