Managing Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
My client is an award-winning Developer specialising in Regeneration and Affordable Housing Projects across the UK. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands Team to lead a team of surveyors across a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes. The role requires a hands-on approach to commercial management, pre-tender work, and team leadership to help deliver high-quality housing projects across the region.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
* Leading and managing the Quantity Surveying team to ensure effective project delivery
* Overseeing cost control, subcontractor procurement, and cash management
* Preparing and reviewing financial reports, CVRs, and PPRs
* Supporting land acquisitions and pre-tender estimating/contractual reviews
* Managing contractual issues, claims, and dispute resolution
* Liaising with clients, internal departments, and the wider supply chain
Managing Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
* Proven track record as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within the residential sector
* Strong experience in both new build and refurbishment housing projects
* Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts (e.g. D&B)
* Ability to manage subcontract procurement and negotiate effectively
* Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing commercial teams
* Excellent communication skills, with confidence in dealing with clients and stakeholders
Other Desirable Skills include:
* Experience in upfront land acquisition and associated commercial processes
* Involvement in pre-tender works including estimating and contract reviews
