Project Details
The specialist subcontractor is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor who is ready for the next step in a challenging and rewarding role working with Project and Finance teams.
You would work in an exciting environment where you can truly make a difference and contribute to ambitious growth plans. The role would be based in the employer's Basingstoke office.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Mastermind project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial targets.
2. Conduct life-cycle cost analyses, optimizing project costs throughout their lifecycle.
3. Prepare accurate cost estimates and review existing budgets, identifying and mitigating potential overruns.
4. Craft financial documents with precision and clarity.
5. Submit, and negotiate variation/compensation events, securing best value for the company.
6. Sharpen your negotiation skills to secure favourable contract terms and resolve disputes effectively.
7. Identify and manage commercial risks, safeguarding project profitability.
8. Accurately complete CVR’s and arrange timely payments with invoices prepared to perfection.
9. Prepare contracts and technical documents with confidence.
10. Manage contracts diligently, ensuring compliance with terms and regulations.
11. Oversee procurement processes and manage client valuations.
Desired Skills and Experience
12. Minimum of 5 years in the engineering or construction industry
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
14. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
15. Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, and financial management.
16. Experience in variation/compensation event management, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management software
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
18. A BSc in Quantity Surveying or a degree in Cost Management or similar is preferred.
