ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Production Process Engineer reporting to the Process Plant Manager to lead the process design, optimisation, and quality assurance strategies that drive the efficient, safe, and sustainable operation of the plant. In addition, improve process performance, maintain high product quality standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support safe and efficient project delivery, ensuring schedules, scopes and contractor activities align with operational objectives.
* Provide technical guidance across ponds, bores, and processing operations.
* Lead process optimisation initiatives, including plant monitoring, metallurgical accounting, and data analysis.
* Develop and maintain process models, sampling standards, and feed blend guidance to support production performance.
* Contribute to troubleshooting, root‑cause investigations, and continuous improvement activities across operations.
* Mentor and support metallurgists and operators, promoting strong safety, compliance, and operational discipline.
* Prepare concise operational reports, forecasts, and performance insights to support decision‑making.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree in chemical or metallurgical engineering.
* Certificate IV in Frontline Management (advantageous).
* 7+ years in process engineering or plant operations (salt, potash, or mining preferred).
* 5 years specifically as a Senior Process Plant Engineer.
* Strong understanding of mineral processing, metallurgical accounting, evaporation pond operations, and potash crystallisation.
* Exposure to reporting and metallurgical accounting.
* Proven analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting capabilities, with experience producing operational forecasts.
* Exposure to people management.
* Strong leadership, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proven ability to identify and implement process plant optimisation and improvement.
* Proficiency with Office 365 (advanced Excel) and experience in Pronto; Aconex/INX desirable.
