Embedded Controls Engineer - Permanent - Rugeley - Hybrid
Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Embedded Controls Engineer to act as the primary technical expert across several projects. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop and validate embedded software for advanced electrical power systems and converters. This role requires strong embedded C skills, excellent communication, and the flexibility to work onsite in Rugeley 2-3 days per week, with the ability to increase onsite presence during key project phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as the lead embedded engineer within a small, specialist team focused on developing electrical power systems, including power converters.
2. Work alongside systems and electronics engineers to produce robust system designs.
3. Create DSP- and/or microprocessor-based control solutions for protection devices and power conversion equipment.
4. Build and test prototypes to validate design performance.
5. Define system interfaces and ensure smooth integration with connected subsystems.
6. Support verification, qualification, and compliance testing activities.
