Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician - ADHD & ASD Assessments

The Opportunity
We are supporting a well-established independent multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessment service delivering high-quality Autism and ADHD diagnostic pathways for children and young people.
The service operates a calm, structured clinic environment with excellent administrative preparation, meaning clinicians can focus on clinical decision-making rather than paperwork overload. All cases arrive pre-triaged with questionnaires and background information already collated.
You will be working alongside an experienced MDT including psychologists and therapists, within a service designed around thorough assessments rather than volume-driven throughput.
This role suits a Consultant who enjoys assessment and formulation work without the pressures of acute NHS service demand, waiting list management or operational responsibilities.
Clinic Structure
* One consistent clinic day per week (Tuesdays)
* Approximately 3 comprehensive assessments per day
* Fully prepared cases with supporting documentation provided
* Dedicated admin support
* Quiet clinic environment with protected assessment time
Assessment Rates
* ADHD assessment - £420
* Autism assessment - £420
* Combined ADHD & Autism - £750
Role Responsibilities
* Complete neurodevelopmental assessments for ADHD and Autism
* Conduct developmental history and clinical observation
* Review school reports and supporting documentation
* Provide diagnostic formulation using DSM-5 / ICD-10
* Deliver clear family feedback
* Produce structured diagnostic reports and recommendations
* Contribute to multidisciplinary discussion where appropriate
Requirements
* GMC Specialist Register - Paediatrics
* Community Paediatrics background
* Experience diagnosing ADHD & ASD
* Comfortable with face-to-face assessment clinics
